DISCOVERING YOUR CREATIVE VISION

My passion for photography first became apparent in the 7th grade while taking a photography class in summer school. I loved learning about f-stops, shutter speeds and how to work a camera. As I took pictures I tried to imagine what the negative images looked like on the film inside my camera. The decisive moment came while watching my first print emerge from the developer under the amber glow of the darkroom safelight. It seemed like magic. A lifelong curiosity and passion for photography was born!

Since those days I’ve learned a lot about photography, art and life. I have shot many jobs as a freelance commercial photographer, exhibited my fine art photography in national galleries and taught photography, History of Photography and web design to hundreds of students. I’ve even won some awards for my work along the way. If you’re interested in the details you can read more here.

Discovering Your Creative Vision reflects the title of my creativity workshops and my teaching philosophy. I have created this website as an extension of my passion for photography, art and teaching. You will find photography tutorials, information on my current photography classes and creativity workshops, links to photography and art related websites and blogs, galleries of my photography, ideas for creative photography, galleries of my student’s work, resources for photo supplies, my blog on art, creativity and photography and much more.
