Have you ever truly listened to your surroundings? Join us for a unique exploration of the Edgewood neighborhood, where we’ll tune into the world in ways you may have never imagined. Inspired by Hildegard Westerkamp’s concept of the soundwalk—”any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment”—this experience is designed to open your ears and awaken your senses.

What to Expect
We’ll begin with an introduction to the art of sound walking—how to embrace stillness, open up to the environment, and let the sounds around us guide our journey.

From there, we’ll embark on a slow, mindful walk through the neighborhood surrounding RAW Space, immersing ourselves in its rich sonic textures.

Afterward, we’ll gather to listen to a few recordings and share our impressions. You’ll discover how much more there is to hear once you start paying attention!

Whether you’re an artist, a curious explorer, or simply someone looking for a deeper connection to your surroundings, this soundwalk promises to offer a fresh perspective.

What to Bring
– A small notebook to jot down your observations and insights. (Optional)
– An audio recorder or phone (with wind protection) if you’d like to capture some of the sounds along the way. (Optional)

Important Notes
To preserve the integrity of the listening experience, we ask participants to limit conversations and cellphone use during the walk. Let’s allow the sounds of the environment to take center stage.
