I am an artist, photographer and instructor based in Vero Beach, Florida. I am fascinated by photography, art and creativity. I have a Masters in Fine Art (MFA) in Photography and extensive experience as a commercial photographer shooting architecture, food & products. In addition to my commercial photography work I teach photography classes at Rutgers University, Merrimack College and the Vero Beach Museum of Art. I also mentor numerous private students in Vero Beach, Miami and beyond. My fine art photography has been exhibited around the world. Recently, I was recently on the Miami episode of Ovation TV’s art + travel show American Canvas.

Below is a list of my current photography classes, creativity workshops, photography excursions and art gallery tours in Vero Beach, Delray Beach & Miami, Florida. I am also available for private photography & creativity lessons and creativity workshops for businesses and organizations.

Photography 101

Photography 101
This fun and interactive class is designed to teach students the fundamentals of photography. Discover f/stops & shutter speeds and how to use them to take better photos. We’ll also discuss composition, color, perspective and imaginative approaches to photography to spark creativity!

Photoshop for Photographers

Photoshop CC for Photographers
Take your photography to the next level using Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Bridge. This interactive photography class is designed to teach you digital workflow from camera to computer to printer. Learn how to get the most out of your photographs using the editing capabilities of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge. We will also cover filters and special effects during this 10-week photography class. You must have a portable personal laptop computer with your personal version of Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Bridge.

The Courage To Create

Discover Your World With Fresh Eyes!
This course is designed to help you discover your creativity and personal vision through photography. We will explore the creative process through presentations, slides and videos. Each week you will be given a creative challenge to help you discover new ways of seeing. Technical skills will be introduced along the way to support creative ideas. I will also present a variety of strategies for staying engaged in creativity even after the course.

No previous camera experience is necessary. All levels of cameras are welcome, from iPhones to state-of-the-art dSLRs and beyond.

Have you ever truly listened to your surroundings? Join us for a unique exploration of the Edgewood neighborhood, where we’ll tune into the world in ways you may have never imagined. Inspired by Hildegard Westerkamp’s concept of the soundwalk—”any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment”—this experience is designed to open your ears and awaken your senses.

What to Expect
We’ll begin with an introduction to the art of sound walking—how to embrace stillness, open up to the environment, and let the sounds around us guide our journey.

From there, we’ll embark on a slow, mindful walk through the neighborhood surrounding RAW Space, immersing ourselves in its rich sonic textures.

Afterward, we’ll gather to listen to a few recordings and share our impressions. You’ll discover how much more there is to hear once you start paying attention!

Whether you’re an artist, a curious explorer, or simply someone looking for a deeper connection to your surroundings, this soundwalk promises to offer a fresh perspective.

What to Bring
– A small notebook to jot down your observations and insights. (Optional)
– An audio recorder or phone (with wind protection) if you’d like to capture some of the sounds along the way. (Optional)

Important Notes
To preserve the integrity of the listening experience, we ask participants to limit conversations and cellphone use during the walk. Let’s allow the sounds of the environment to take center stage.

Next Wynwood Art District Creative Photography Class Date TBA

Discover Miami’s vibrant street art and your creativity in this creative photography class held in the infamous Wynwood Art District.

We will start the photo excursion immersed in the Wynwood Walls street art project and continue to visit some of the district’s most interesting and vibrant street art. You will receive technical support and creative ideas as we explore the area with our cameras.

This creative photography class will begin at 1:00PM at the Wynwood Kitchen & Bar surrounded by some fantastic murals by Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Futura and many others. From there we will explore the street art and gallery culture Wynwood is known for.
