Inspiring garden photography from Creative Sparks – Bob Webster

This week’s featured photograph from my Creative Sparks creativity workshop is by Bob Webster. I first met Bob while doing a photography demo at the Vero Beach Museum of Art where he told me of his passion for travel and photographing gardens. Since then Bob has taken my photography classes at the museum and become an active member of Creative Sparks.

Bob just got back from a nice long visit to the U.K. and shared many beautiful photographs with us last night. Here is one of my favorites.

Bob has developed a wonderful eye for creating order within complexity. On first glance many of his photographs seem quite simple and quiet. Studying them over time reveals a deep complexity of shapes, textures and colors with just enough tension and movement to make the photograph interesting. I am drawn to the repetition of circles and lines in this photo as well as the beautiful colors in the flowers and buds.

Originally from New England Bob finds his inspiration in nature, gardens and the photography of Elliot Porter.
